Revenge can be brutal...

There are times in life when it seems as though the rain will never cease. This was the case at Panihati 1999. Anyone who was there will remember all the mud that seemed to be endlessly in our tents, on our clothes, and essentially everywhere. I was traveling with my best friend Janava. We had been putting off going back to North Carlina for a few weeks at that point. After the Rathayatra...it poured almost the whole time.....we were all hanging out enjoying the associations of all our friends. During this time, the rain had blessedly ceased for a while and the sun had peaked out from the clouds. I was really enjoying it until a certian British boy named Kardhama started to terrorize all the lovely matajis with handfuls of mud. Eventually, Janava and I got caught up in the mud fight. That was fine and fun for all involved. After a bit, Janava and I decided to clean up and get ready to head home. We were fresh and clean when we were sabotaged by the porta potties. Kards thought it would be a cute way to get our attention by by covering us in the foulest , funkest run-off porta potty mud you can imagine. It didnt end there either. He made the choice to rub our faces in the stenchy funk also. Well, we were both outraged and more than insulted. We cleaned up again and packed up to leave. We said our goodbyes and left. Oh yeah, Janava had a fantastic idea to get revenge. Kards had just bought these beautiful, spiffy white, new K-swiss shoes. He was so proud of them and couldnt wait to get away from all the mud so he could pimp them around. We did a drive by the back side of the temple and made a pit stop at his tent. After a little rustling around , we found his lovely new shoes. We placed them in front of his tent and planted them deeply into the dark mud. Janava forbid me to put porta potty mud in the inside of the shoes or even to leave a note. Kards found his shoes a bit later. Janava and I were on the road, but I heard he wept a tear when he saw his babies covered in funk. He knew exactly who- done -it without a revenge note. I wish I had been there to watch his face when he felt karma. At least we had a great laugh the rest of the way to Wilmington,NC.
